A Watch Embodying A. Lange & Söhne's Sincere Approach to Watchmaking

The new version of the Saxonia Moon Phase presents a unique ambiance, with Lange's signature outsize date and moon phase complications set against a black dial.

A key feature is the moon phase function, boasting a moon disc adorned with 852 stars. It achieves a remarkable accuracy of one day's deviation only every 122.6 years. The moon phase display is driven in constant synchronization with a rotating drum, maintaining near-perfect alignment with the actual lunar cycle. Another distinctive element is Lange's unique outsize date. Typically, dates are printed in black on a white disc, but in this new variation, white numerals stand out crisply against a black disc that seamlessly integrates with the black dial.

The movement is the manufacture's Calibre L086.5, finished and decorated by hand. It incorporates a large central rotor with a platinum-mass balance, ensuring efficient winding of the mainspring. The carefully designed barrel provides a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound.

Hallmarks of its high quality include a traditional free-sprung balance with a hairspring made in-house, a German silver three-quarter plate with a finely finished surface, and a hand-engraved balance cock.
