ROGER DUBUIS | In-depth Report from the Geneva Watch Days!
ROGER DUBUIS | ROGER DUBUIS
Creating a New Worldview with Two New Collections
While it has continued to develop as an independent brand, the distinctive manufacture "Roger Dubuis" joined the Richemont Group in 2009 and has been rebuilding the brand. This year, two new collections have been introduced. The full picture of the "new Roger Dubuis," now comprising a total of four collections, has finally been revealed.

Born in 1995 from the passion of watchmaker Roger Dubuis and businessman Carlos Dias, who possessed deep knowledge of watches, "Roger Dubuis" emerged. Despite being a new brand, it is known as a manufacture that develops and produces top-tier mechanical watches from the movement, acquiring the Geneva Seal for all its models. It also has passionate fans worldwide as a style leader, bringing a fresh perspective to the watch world with its innovative designs. After joining Richemont in 2009 and undergoing brand restructuring, this year marks the final stage of its significant transformation.
Under the basic principle of maximizing the appeal of its manufacture (fully in-house) movements, culminating in the double tourbillon, two new collections, "Pulsion" and "Velvet," have been unveiled alongside the traditionally popular "Excalibur" and the 2011-released "Monégasque." With this, all four core collections of the brand are now complete.
"Pulsion," named after the heartbeat felt when facing danger, is a men's collection targeting "venturers" (those who bravely face and overcome life's crises). On the other hand, "Velvet" is a ladies' collection targeting "divas" (women who live sensually on a glamorous stage). Both collections offer more refined timepieces while inheriting the brand's image and the attractive aspects of past models. Both the mechanism and the case meet the new standards of the Geneva Seal, revised at the end of last year. The level of completion and the richness of content exceed expectations, and we eagerly anticipate future developments.
"Pulsion Chronograph"
A Cool Presence Born from a Thick Sapphire Crystal
A self-winding chronograph with a powerful presence, characteristic of Roger Dubuis, designed with the image of "battle." Its features include a thick sapphire crystal fixed to the case with six screws, and vibrant Arabic numerals engraved on the sapphire crystal and filled with luminous paint on the bezel. Furthermore, the dial is entirely open-worked, revealing the in-house chronograph movement "Caliber RD680" equipped with a column wheel and micro-rotor. This is recommended for those who are not satisfied with ordinary mechanical chronographs.
Self-winding, black DLC-coated titanium case, rubber strap, case diameter 44mm, 100m water resistance, new Geneva Seal acquired. ¥3,486,000 (estimated price), scheduled for release this winter.
"Pulsion Flying Tourbillon Skeleton"
The Most Modern Tourbillon Skeleton in History
This tourbillon model in the "Pulsion" collection is equipped with the in-house movement "Caliber RD505SQ," which features a flying tourbillon, one of Roger Dubuis' specialties in complex mechanisms. The modern and bold skeletonization of the movement, which has surprised watch collectors, is breathtaking. The basic details, such as the thick sapphire crystal secured with screws, are common to the chronograph model.
Manual winding, titanium case, rubber strap, case diameter 44mm, open-worked, 100m water resistance, new Geneva Seal acquired. ¥11,550,000 (estimated price), scheduled for release this winter.
"Excalibur Classic"
With a touch of classic taste, it's thin and easy to wear
This is a simple small seconds model from the popular "Excalibur" collection, featuring the newly developed self-winding movement "Caliber RD620." Despite being self-winding, it utilizes a micro-rotor mechanism, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship characteristic of Roger Dubuis as a manufacture. The distinctive Arabic numeral dial with its impactful design is particularly noteworthy.
Self-winding, stainless steel case, alligator strap, case diameter 42mm, 30m water resistance. ¥1,302,000 (estimated price), scheduled for release this autumn.
"Velvet"
A New Creation for the "Special Woman"
Individualistic, adventurous, and elegant. This is a special limited edition of the new ladies' model "Velvet," created by the reborn Roger Dubuis for the "modern diva" who captivates those around her with her bold actions. Unusually for a ladies' model, it features a titanium case with a black DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating. Furthermore, while the regular models feature diamonds set on the bezel, this model uniquely incorporates amethysts and spinels, exuding a noble radiance.
Self-winding, black DLC-coated titanium case set with amethysts and spinels, satin strap, case diameter 36mm, 30m water resistance, limited to 188 pieces worldwide, new Geneva Seal acquired. ¥3,486,000 (estimated price), scheduled for release this summer.
