The Iconic "Navitimer" Also Features Models with In-House Chrono-Movements
Last year, Breitling began its initiative to equip its mechanical models with in-house movements, starting with the brand's flagship pilot watch, the "Chronomat," which was launched with the first fully in-house developed and manufactured high-performance mechanical chronometer movement, "Caliber 01."
This year, all Chronomat models have been upgraded to be equipped with this "Caliber 01." Furthermore, the "Chronomat GMT," powered by "Caliber 04" with an added GMT function, has also been introduced. The "Navitimer," another staple pilot watch alongside the Chronomat, now includes a limited edition model with "Caliber 01," further expanding the range of models featuring in-house movements.
A New Series with a 1950s Aesthetic is Also Born
Additionally, two new models have been unveiled, inheriting the name of the masterpiece "Transocean," which was a coveted piece among pilots as a flagship model from the late 1950s to the 1960s. These new models feature a refined, retro-inspired design.
At this year's Basel Fair, refined and classic designs are trending strongly. Among these, this model, composed of a chronograph and a three-hand version, stands out as the most complete.
Breitling for Bentley Enters a New Generation
In 2003, Breitling launched the premium driver's watch collection "Breitling for Bentley" in partnership with the prestigious automotive marque "Bentley." This year, the "Bentley Motors Speed," the first model in this collection and a long-loved staple, has evolved into the "Bentley B04."
Beyond these, Breitling continues to make steady improvements and expand variations in its existing model lines, such as the popular divers' watches "Superocean" and "Superocean Heritage."
The unwavering commitment to watchmaking, creating timepieces that foster affection and trust with each wear, remains unchanged this year.
Bentley B04 Racing
The New Staple Model Succeeding the "Bentley Motors Speed"
This year marks the debut of the "Bentley B04," the successor to the "Bentley Motors Speed," the inaugural model of the "Breitling for Bentley" collection launched in 2003. The "Bentley B04 Racing" is a special edition that pursues an impactful aesthetic with its disc-style sub-dials instead of hands. While the fundamental design remains similar to the first model—featuring Breitling's patented 30-second chronograph mechanism that allows the chrono-seconds hand to complete a full dial rotation in 30 seconds for 1/8th second precision, a knurled bezel reminiscent of the control buttons on vintage Bentley racing cars, and the arrangement of sub-dials—the case diameter has been slightly increased to 49mm (by 0.3mm). The "B04" naming is derived from Woolf Barnato, a racing driver who was highly successful in the 24 Hours of Le Mans among the Bentley Boys.
Self-winding, 49mm diameter stainless steel case & Speed bracelet, COSC-certified chronometer, transparent case back. Estimated price: ¥1,029,000. Scheduled for July release.
Transocean Chronograph
Reproducing the Refined Beauty of 1950s-60s Chronographs
While not possessing the assertive presence on the wrist of contemporary models, Swiss mechanical chronographs from the 1950s and 60s captivated watch collectors with their understated beauty. This new model, named "Transocean" after the flagship model introduced in 1958, reinterprets the refined style of these antique chronographs—possessing a comforting and gentle charm—for the modern era. Despite its retro aesthetic, it is equipped with the latest Caliber 01 movement. Its simple design, featuring applied bar indices and slightly stepped grey sub-dials, ensures excellent legibility. A more standard three-hand version is also available.
Self-winding, 43mm diameter stainless steel case & Ocean Classic bracelet, COSC-certified chronometer. Estimated price: ¥745,000. Scheduled for July release.
