Featuring the British Air Force's Iconic Yellow and Cotton Ventile
This is the third collaboration between Timex, a brand with 165 years of history, and Nigel Cabourn, the "Survival Watch." Like the first release in 2018, it's a military watch based on Timex's iconic "Camper" model.
Originally, the "Camper" was developed during the Vietnam War era to meet U.S. Department of Defense specifications as a "disposable watch" that wouldn't require repair or replacement in the field, and was issued to U.S. soldiers. It later became a bestseller when sold as a civilian model under the name "Camper." It has now been revived in its original form as a Japan-exclusive release after nearly a quarter of a century.
This "Survival Watch" draws inspiration from the life-saving equipment used by the British Air Force during World War II. The vibrant yellow is taken from life vests, and the cotton ventile used for the strap is a material that the RAF (Royal Air Force) also used for coats to protect against water and wind during water landings—an item that combines both functionality and design.
This piece features a dial based on survival yellow, and comes with two interchangeable straps: one leather and one cotton ventile.
