A Diver's Watch with a Classical Exterior, Yet High Shock Resistance, Scratch Resistance, and Modern Technology

BALL Watch's "Engineer Master II" is a sports watch collection designed for professional use, with superior operability pursued in every single part. Its latest creation, the "Engineer Master II Skin Diver Heritage," is the fourth revival of a diver's watch rooted in the "BALL Skin Diver" developed in 1962. At first glance, it embodies the classical "The Diver's Watch" style, but its interior and details are packed with the latest technology.
Leveraging its expertise in crafting tough mechanical watches, the watch features a robust 316L stainless steel case with a screw-down case back and crown, ensuring a water resistance of 200 meters, sufficient for general diving. Meanwhile, the central part of the case back is made of sapphire crystal, revealing the intricate workings of the automatic movement within. While the third revival model was equipped with an automatic decompression valve for saturation diving, this model intentionally omits it to enhance maintainability.
The surface of the unidirectional rotating bezel has been replaced with hard sapphire crystal, reducing concerns about minor scratches. The numerals and markers are coated with Super-LumiNova®, which, along with the micro gas tubes set on the dial and hands, ensures excellent legibility even in underwater or dark environments where light is scarce.

Furthermore, knurling on the bezel sides and crown enhances grip, and the integration of the date and day display at the 3 o'clock position improves operability and practicality. The shock-resistance mechanism, symbolizing BALL Watch's philosophy of "Tough & Dependable," is also carried over from the previous model. Tested according to ISO 1413 standards, it is proven to withstand 5,000 Gs of shock, despite being a mechanical watch.(*)of impact.

* Gs is a unit used exclusively by BALL Watch. It quantifies the shock a mechanical watch can withstand while maintaining accuracy within its permissible range when dropped naturally from a height of 1 meter onto a wooden floor (in accordance with ISO 1413).
With its diving scale-equipped unidirectional rotating bezel, matte black dial featuring baton indices, and broad hour and minute hands, the "Engineer Master II Skin Diver Heritage" retains the essence of the popular "old look" diver's watches of the 1960s while being updated with modern features. This Swiss-made mechanical watch, equipped with the latest technology, is priced in the low 200,000 yen range, making it an attractive model in terms of high cost performance.
