Vacheron Constantin is a venerable watch brand with a 254-year history. It boasts a devoted following for its elegant and intricate watchmaking, including its classical dress watches. In 2008, the company introduced the "Kedrill," born from a novel concept of watch customization, incorporating cutting-edge technology. It's still fresh in our memory how this year they presented an even richer lineup by equipping their classic "Patrimony" line with new movements.

Vacheron Constantin has long viewed its watchmaking as something that resonates with Japanese culture. On November 4th, they hosted the event "VACHERON CONSTANTIN×JAPAN ART—History and Excellence Passed Down Through Time" at Happo-en in Tokyo. This event, which drew parallels between their watchmaking and Japanese traditional culture, conveyed the company's unique philosophy: to evolve relentlessly while cherishing tradition.

For this project, Vacheron Constantin enlisted two Japanese artists: photographer Roland Kirishima and actor Tetsuya Bessho. They produced original video works themed around "time." These were unveiled at the event and sparked considerable discussion. Openers readers, we now present this unique collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and these two artists.





Lost in Time
"Time is an illusion. In a world that constantly changes and becomes more convenient, there's the feeling of being perpetually chased by it, and the sense of being unable to control it within absolute precision. 'Lost in Time' is a story about a mischievous fox that plays a trick, temporarily freeing modern people, who are bound by such 'time,' from the constraints of space and time."
