First appearing in 1994 as the "Mechanical Flieger Chronograph,"Chronographthe "Pilot's Watch Chronograph Automatic" was reborn in 2006 after a renewal. Like IWC's flagship Mark series, it is an aviation watch with excellent legibility, and its chronograph function results in a sporty, mechanical dial design.

The previous model had a diameter of 39mm, but it was enlarged to 42mm for the renewal. The hands of the totalizers were also enlarged, further enhancing legibility.
Additionally, a red hand is used for the small seconds, not only improving readability but also giving it a more refined image through the contrast with the black dial. The strap can be chosen from two options: crocodile or a delicate stainless steel bracelet.

Furthermore, its excellent cost performance is another appeal of this model. Despite being equipped with an automatic chronograph and a practical day-date display, it costs only about 100,000 yen more than the three-hand Mark XVI. Of course, it also features a high magnetic shielding of 24,000 A/m, solidifying its position as one of IWC's representative popular models.
