On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 became the first manned mission to land on the Moon. The following day, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took their historic first steps on the lunar surface. It's a well-known fact among watch enthusiasts that the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional was on their wrists, ticking away the seconds. This year marks the 40th anniversary of that momentous achievement. To commemorate this occasion, OMEGA is releasing a limited edition of 7,969 pieces. This particular model features a solid silver medallion of the Apollo 11 mission's eagle emblem embedded in the sub-dial at the 9 o'clock position.
