Speedmaster Automatic Date
Text by OPENERS
The "Speedmaster Professional," which served as official NASA equipment in the United States, gave rise to the "Speedmaster Automatic" in 1971, equipped with an automatic winding movement.
While it has since become a major series, the most popular model among them is the "Speedmaster Automatic Date" shown in the photo, featuring a practical date display.
The current model was renewed in 2006, boasting COSC-certified chronometer status and 100m water resistance. It also offers a rich variety of designs, with five dial variations including black and a black-and-white two-tone.
In 2009, the "Speedmaster Automatic Date Japan Limited Model" (photo on the right), featuring an unconventional horizontal three-subdial layout, was also released.
In any case, as a flagship model representing OMEGA, it garners immense support, particularly from young business professionals. Its relatively accessible price also makes it an ideal entry-level mechanical chronograph.
