Seamaster Diver 300M
Text by OPENERS
The Seamaster is OMEGA’s signature series, symbolizing the brand’s enduring relationship with the water. Born in 1948 as a professional diver’s watch for the general public, it was based on a military model developed at the request of the British Navy. While it has evolved in design and functionality over the years, the “Diver 300M,” introduced in 1993, has garnered overwhelming support as a pinnacle of achievement.
Its robust stainless steel case meets the 300m water resistance required for diving, and it is equipped with a helium escape valve for saturation diving. Furthermore, it is a high-precision chronometer model featuring OMEGA’s proprietary Co-Axial escapement, ensuring exceptional reliability.
Beyond its impressive specifications, the Seamaster Diver 300M also excels in aesthetics. The dial features a wave pattern, evoking a distinctly marine image. The sporty unidirectional rotating bezel, with its nut-like shape, is another distinctive feature and has become an icon of the model.
Moreover, an indispensable part of the Seamaster Diver 300M’s story is its connection to the James Bond film franchise. The watch worn by James Bond in the movies is none other than the Seamaster.
The refined black version featured above was unveiled prior to the release of the film *Quantum of Solace* in January 2009. A blue dial variant is also available and remains a popular classic.
In 2009, to commemorate the Winter Olympics to be held in Canada the following year, the “Seamaster Diver ‘Vancouver 2010’ Limited Edition” was also introduced. This rare model features a special color scheme inspired by the Canadian flag, with a vivid red bezel beautifully contrasting against the white dial.
