Today, January 21st, Audemars Piguet announced a new model welcoming Masato, a representative Japanese fighter, as an ambassador. The new creation is the "Royal Oak Offshore MASATO Chronograph Limited Edition." The "Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph" is Audemars Piguet's cutting-edge luxury sports watch. It has consistently pushed the boundaries of watchmaking with innovative ideas and the active adoption of new materials. The news that a leading figure in Japan's extreme sports scene has been chosen for this dynamic collection is truly delightful.

The case back features the MASATO logo crown mark, a symbol of the champion.
Masato began boxing at 15 and entered "K-1" at 17. In 2003, he became the first Japanese world champion, and in 2008, he won his second world title at "K1 World Max 2008." Audemars Piguet stated that they resonate with this titleholder's "lifestyle of wanting to remain innovative and challenging." Masato is Audemars Piguet's first Japanese ambassador and its first fighter.
An innovator in watchmaking and a pioneer in extreme sports. How will the encounter between these two entities evolve in the future? This is a truly exciting collaboration that makes us eagerly anticipate what lies ahead.

BRAND HISTORY
The brand's history began in 1875 when watchmaker Jules-Louis Audemars collaborated with his childhood friend, watch finisher Edward-August Piguet. In 1882, they officially registered the current company name, Audemars Piguet, and established the "Manufacture" watch workshop.
In 1889, they unveiled the "Grand Complication," a pocket watch featuring numerous complex mechanisms such as a split-seconds chronograph and perpetual calendar. In 1894, they produced the world's smallest minute repeater for a pocket watch, demonstrating their high technical prowess from the outset.
Entering the new century, even after the company's management was passed down to successors, they continued to pursue innovative watchmaking, creating the world's thinnest pocket watch at just 1.5mm thick. They reigned as a prestigious brand boasting the world's highest status throughout the 20th century.
In the 1970s, they launched the "Royal Oak" (1972), featuring an octagonal case inspired by the portholes of a British warship and incorporating the brand's first use of stainless steel. This model, which established the "luxury sports watch" genre in the watch industry, remains a long-selling product loved worldwide.
In 1986, they released the first wristwatch in the world to feature a tourbillon. Furthermore, in 1996, they achieved the feat of fitting the complex, multi-functional mechanisms of the "Grand Complication," originally created by the founders, into a wristwatch size.
Since the 21st century, they have continued to develop proprietary movements and actively incorporate exotic materials for cases and movements. In 2006, they devised a new escapement mechanism, further solidifying their role as a leader in the watch industry, driving the next generation.
