Japan-Exclusive Models Harmonize Sodalite & Malachite with Gold

The 41mm Japan-exclusive models are offered in two variations, each featuring a dial made from either sodalite or malachite, both natural stones.

The sodalite dial model is paired with an 18K white gold case. White calcite stripes within the stone harmonize with the baguette-cut diamond hour markers. The inner bezel and rubber strap are also in a deep blue, creating an elegant two-tone finish. Sodalite, known as the "poet's stone," is a natural mineral said to symbolize creativity and artistic expression.

The malachite dial model, in contrast, is paired with an 18K yellow gold case. The deep green dial, characterized by its swirling patterns and subtle shading, is set with baguette-cut diamond hour markers and yellow gold hands. The inner bezel and strap match the dial's color, creating a striking contrast with the case. Malachite, symbolizing transformation and growth, resonates deeply with the collection's concept.

Both models are powered by the Manufacture's automatic Calibre 4309. The sapphire case back reveals a rotor finished in a color that complements the case.

Crafting dials from natural stone requires exceptional skill. Thinly sliced stones are meticulously polished and then secured to the dial plate, preserving their color and luster. Due to the nature of these organic materials, no two dials are exactly alike.

Japan-First Model Features Vibrant Turquoise

The Japan-first model comes in a 38mm size. Its visual impact is amplified by the striking turquoise stone dial paired with an 18K white gold case. The unique matrix pattern etched into the dial is distinct on each piece, imbuing it with individual character.

The inner bezel and textile-patterned rubber strap are unified in the same color, while the white gold hands and rhodium-toned hour markers create a stylish overall aesthetic. A turquoise blue alligator strap is also included. The watch is equipped with Calibre 5909, and the rhodium-colored rotor's decoration can be admired through the sapphire case back.

This model, adorned with turquoise—a stone historically associated with protection and good fortune—will be launched first in Japan in May 2026, with a global release scheduled for July of the same year.

The vibrant colors of the natural stone dials in all three models are perfectly suited for the transition from spring to summer. These limited editions, which shine brilliantly under warm sunlight, are sure to add a distinctive touch of color to your new season wardrobe.

Frequently Asked Questions about Audemars Piguet Watches

Q. Please tell me about the brand history of Audemars Piguet.

Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in Switzerland's renowned Vallée de Joux watchmaking region, by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet. For over 150 years, it has remained an independent, family-run manufacturer, with descendants of both families continuing to lead the company. In 1972, the Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta, was launched, pioneering the market for sporty luxury watches. The brand is also renowned for its development of highly complex mechanisms and is globally recognized as a leading independent Swiss luxury watch brand.

Q. What was the background behind the development of the "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet" collection?

CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet is a new collection launched by Audemars Piguet in 2019, the first in approximately a quarter-century. "CODE" signifies the principles and philosophy Audemars Piguet upholds in watchmaking, while "11.59" represents the minute before midnight, the very cusp of a new day. This naming reflects the brand's commitment to continuous evolution. The case features a unique multi-layered structure, characterized by a complex design that combines a round case with an octagonal middle case and a cushion-shaped bezel. The Japan-exclusive and Japan-first models continue this legacy of innovation as part of the collection.

Q. What is the value of natural stone dials?

The primary appeal of natural stone dials lies in their unique patterns; no two are ever identical, even when made from the same material. The sodalite, malachite, and turquoise used in these Japan-market models are all natural minerals with distinctive hues and intricate veining, offering a one-of-a-kind face crafted by the Earth over millennia. Furthermore, the advanced polishing and processing techniques required to transform these natural stones into precise watch dials, combined with the artisanal craftsmanship involved, enhance their rarity and value.
