OMEGA | Announcing the New Collection: "Speedmaster Mark II"
OMEGA
A Revival of the Second-Generation Speedmaster
Introducing the New "Speedmaster Mark II" Collection
In 1969, the same year OMEGA achieved the historic moon landing with Apollo 11, the brand introduced the "Speedmaster Mark II," a timepiece with a new style housed in a streamlined case. Now, in 2014, OMEGA is renewing this classic model with achronographcollection.

Specifications to Satisfy OMEGA Fans and Speedmaster Aficionados
The "Mark" in the series name refers to a "version." The "Speedmaster Mark II" was the first "2nd version" to alter the design of the original Speedmaster, which was launched in 1957. The newly renewed model is available in two variations: a matte black dial and a grey dial. The grey dial model features an orange luminous chronograph seconds hand and a matching minute track. This design can be considered a unique characteristic of this new release, a gift to OMEGA fans and Speedmaster aficionados.
The movement is the "Co-Axial Calibre 3330," an automatic movement featuring an Si14 silicon balance spring and a column wheel chronograph. Furthermore, for the first time in the Speedmaster collection, a transparent tachymeter scale is used on the inner side of the sapphire crystal glass, illuminated by Super-LumiNova on the aluminum ring below. This ensures high legibility even in low light conditions.
The oval case, integrated with the lugs, adopts the "Pilot Line Case," also used in models like the "Flightmaster," which was popular in 1969. The brushed stainless steel bracelet is equipped with OMEGA's patented rack and pusher clasp, allowing for easy bracelet adjustment.
