CASIO has released the new 2018 "MT-G" from G-SHOCK, which has been stylishly downsized while retaining its full functionality. "MT-G," named after "Metal Twisted G-SHOCK," features a hybrid case that combines metal and resin. This model re-examines the fundamental structure of the hybrid case, the core of the series' concept, and develops an entirely new mechanism. The result is a GOOD SIZE that conforms to the wrist circumference of Japanese men, making it suitable for business wear without being ostentatious.

An Exterior That Achieves Both Ultimate Toughness and Beauty
This year marks the 35th anniversary of G-SHOCK. Within its history of pursuing shock resistance and timekeeping accuracy, the "MT-G" was born in 1999. This model embodied a new concept of rationally protecting the watch from shocks through a hybrid case that fused metal and resin.
At the same time, its design freedom evolved it into a high-fashion item. It has now grown into a core series within G-SHOCK.
The latest model, "MTG-B1000," has now joined the "MT-G" lineup. What's different this time?—It lies in the new case structure that has successfully achieved further downsizing. While maintaining the basic concept of gently enveloping the movement in resin and then robustly protecting it with metal, the design rationalization has been elevated to a higher level. For the "MT-G," which combines robustness and functionality, a voluminous case was considered unavoidable, but now, the design has advanced once again.
Compared to the first MT-G (MTG-S1000), the "MTG-B1000" features a case that is 2.8mm shorter in length, 1.8mm narrower in width, and 1.1mm thinner, achieving a "mid-size" for the first time in the series. As a result, the keyword that the MT-G has acquired is "sophistication." The stylish feel brought by the size, as well as the improved wearing comfort, which cannot be conveyed by numbers alone, are also noteworthy.
Furthermore, as the case has become more compact, the dial has gained more three-dimensionality, showcasing its sculptural beauty even more than before. The beauty of the parts, finished with effective use of accent colors like red, naturally draws the eye.
Metal Bezel with Beautiful Zaratsu-Polished Pillar Surfaces
Zaratsu polishing is one of the highest techniques in metal polishing. This polished finish is applied to the edges of the "MT-G" bezel. The smooth mirror finish, characteristic of Zaratsu polishing, creates a contrast with the hairline finish. By deliberately making it thin, it brings out a metallic luster and a sense of luxury.
Combined Case Highlighting Functional Beauty of Metal + Resin
Metal Twisted—For the "MT-G," which is based on the concept of a metal and resin hybrid, the material choice for the crown guard is also a point of interest. Separate from the metal case, it is designed to cover the crown with resin. Furthermore, the resin part protrudes beyond the metal part of the crown guard, allowing the resin to absorb shocks to the crown and case.
Case Size That Fits Japanese Wrists Better
By resizing the exterior structural parts and reconfiguring their assembly, the "MTG-B1000" has succeeded in reducing the case size by 2.8mm in length, 1.8mm in width, and 1.1mm in thickness compared to the previous model (MTG-S1000). This downsizing has resulted in a perfect fit for Japanese wrists. It will undoubtedly be a valuable accessory for suit styles.
Layer Composite Band Balancing Robustness and Wearability
Another highlight of the "MTG-B1000" is the "vivid color" that peeks through the gaps in the band. This combines fine resin parts with metal parts. Fine resin parts have low thermal conductivity, are lightweight, and highly durable. By placing them on the back, the band achieves both a sense of robustness and comfortable wearability. Additionally, this material is less affected by temperature, so it won't feel cold even when worn in the winter.
Crystal with Anti-Reflective Coating for Excellent Visibility
The crystal uses sapphire glass, which is scratch-resistant and highly transparent. By applying an anti-reflective coating to the inner surface of the glass, light reflections are suppressed, improving visibility so that the time can be clearly read under any light source. This aims to reduce stress during daily use. It also has the effect of clearly displaying the beautiful finishes on the indexes and dial.
Tough System with New Core Guard Structure & New Inner Case Material
A new core guard structure has been developed for the metal parts of the case. By designing the bezel, case back, and lugs (where the band is attached) in a box shape, a strong framework is created to protect the inner case. Meanwhile, the inner case housing the module uses carbon fiber reinforced resin, achieving high rigidity that surpasses conventional resin, despite its light weight. The combination of these two elements creates a new dimension of robustness.

Dual Time Correction System via Smartphone Connection and Standard Radio Wave Reception
The "MTG-B1000" is equipped with the "Connected Engine," which supports time correction via Bluetooth® connection. By linking with a smartphone via Bluetooth® communication and connecting to the dedicated app "G-SHOCK Connected*," it obtains time information from internet time servers. It also features Multi-Band 6, which supports standard radio waves from six major regions. In areas where reception is available, the watch automatically corrects the time once a day, even without a smartphone connection. This dual system makes it possible to display accurate time in any country or region worldwide.
Dedicated App for iPhone and Android for Intuitive Operation
With the dedicated smartphone app "G-SHOCK Connected*," functions can be operated without touching the watch itself. If the app is running, time correction is performed automatically four times a day. Various functions such as world time city setting (over 300 cities), swapping home time and local time displays, and setting alarms and timers can also be operated within the app. The app is designed with a visual focus for intuitive operation, eliminating any operational hassle.

Super Illuminator for Clear Dial Recognition in Darkness
Equipped with a high-brightness LED, the "Super Illuminator" illuminates the dial with a bright light. Visibility is dramatically improved at night or in dark places, allowing for accurate reading of dial information.
Light-Shading Dispersed Solar Panel with High Power Generation Efficiency
