A solo exhibition by the Grand Prize winner of the "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2022 MYNAVI ART AWARD" held in a historic Kyoto building
ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2023, an artist-led art fair set in historic Kyoto, announced a solo exhibition by Goh Uozumi, the Grand Prize winner of the "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2022 MYNAVI ART AWARD," to be held in the historic Shigenobu Kaikan building.
The "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO ART AWARD" is an award that selects particularly outstanding works from artists participating in "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO." Since its establishment in 2021, with the support of its main sponsor, it has encouraged the creative activities of artists engaged in the creation of new art and supported solo exhibitions for Grand Prize winners. At the "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2022 MYNAVI ART AWARD" held in 2022, Goh Uozumi, who was selected through an open call and exhibited for the first time at the fair, won the Grand Prize. The solo exhibition awarded will be held during "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2023," also set in Kyoto.
The solo exhibition will feature new video and sound installations, as well as experimental works based on data, incorporating new concepts and production methods based on the large-scale video and sound work 《Trustless Trust/Mk.God》, which was presented in France in 2015.
Furthermore, with the support of main sponsor Mynavi Corporation, the "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2023 MYNAVI ART AWARD" will be held again this year. Award-winning works will be selected from among the participating artists to further support their activities.
We look forward to ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO's support for those taking their first steps into new fields.

A project composed of multiple works that questions how the world's state changes when intangible elements such as human consciousness, thought, relationships with others, behavioral characteristics, and social systems are considered "new resources" and the protocols that operate them, i.e., the economic system in a broad sense, are established.
Message Regarding the "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2023 MYNAVI ART AWARD"
■ Nobuo Tsubaki, Director of ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2023
In his classic work on futurology, "Cosmos and Symbiosis," J.D. Bernal wrote in 1927, "Ultimately, it is hope that truly determines whether an era is creative or not. However, the very existence of hope in society at any given time depends on many psychological, economic, and political factors that have yet to be explored. I do not believe these factors are mystical, but I do think they require considerable effort to unravel" (translated by Yasuo Shizume). Creativity is not the exclusive domain of art and science; it exists universally in all endeavors and operates on the fuel of "hope." Japan today seems to have half-given up on escaping its long period of stagnation, its own little Middle Ages. This award, however, will undoubtedly continue to pose a profound question about "hope" to both society and the artists who gather here, striving not to merely reside in the ambiguous realm of art but to make unceasing efforts.
