A New Project Marks 30 Years of Partnership Between Two Companies

The partnership between The New Otani and Diners Club dates back to 1970. It began with Diners Club handling settlements for The New Otani's exclusive house card, and the "The New Otani Club Diners Card" was first issued in 1995. To commemorate their 30th anniversary and offer new services, the decision was made to launch a premium card.

The New Otani Club was established in 1964 as the first comprehensive membership organization for a Japanese hotel. Guided by the philosophy of "From first-time guests to lifelong patrons," it now boasts approximately 110,000 members, including prominent figures from various fields.

The new card will include all standard features and services of the Diners Club Premium Card, along with exclusive benefits from Hotel New Otani (Tokyo).

A notable benefit is a complimentary one-night stay per year at "Executive House Zen." This exclusive "hotel-within-a-hotel" concept, which has earned a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating for six consecutive years, offers a Standard Double/Twin room (36 sqm) within its 84 exclusive suites. Guests can enjoy personalized, ryokan-style service from dedicated staff and access to an exclusive lounge with six daily food presentations.

Room upgrades are also available through advance reservations; guests who book stays at Hotel New Otani (Tokyo, Makuhari, or Osaka) in advance will receive a complimentary upgrade to the next room category.

Additional benefits designed to enhance the hotel experience include bonus points for stays at domestic group hotels and visits to directly managed restaurants and bars, as well as access to "SELECT COUPON," a member-exclusive point redemption program for hotel stays and dining.

Naturally, the card retains all existing features and services of the Diners Club Premium Card, such as the 24/7 concierge service and access to the directly managed Ginza Premium Lounge and Osaka Umeda Premium Lounge.

The New Otani, which has welcomed a diverse clientele from family gatherings to international conferences, and Diners Club, a pioneer in premium credit cards, have joined forces. Their new card, a fusion of luxurious hotel stays and sophisticated credit card services, is set to launch in May 2026.

This new value proposition, born from the 60-year legacy of The New Otani Club and a partnership spanning over half a century, goes beyond mere benefits and services. It offers a way to weave refined moments into everyday life and create special memories for life's milestones.
