Recommended for Golden Week. Experience a transformation from 'scary' to 'amazing' at Nifrel's new zone, 'Dokunifurelu'.

If you're seeking a slightly unusual experience for your Golden Week outing, we recommend Nifrel, Osaka's living museum.
The new zone, 'Dokunifurelu,' which opened in March 2026, is the first exhibition to focus on 'poison' since the museum's inception.
It's an unprecedented experiential space that reinterprets the image of 'poison = scary/dangerous' as 'unique traits' that creatures have developed to survive.

The exhibition's concept is 'DOKU DOKUしちゃう?' (Will it make you feel 'doki doki'?).
It aims to evoke conflicting emotions simultaneously: the nervous flutter of 'doki doki' (feeling a little scared) and the excited thrill of 'waku waku' (feeling thrilled).
Within the approximately 350㎡ space, about 30 species and 250 individuals of venomous creatures, including fish, reptiles, and amphibians, are exhibited, with displays designed to change their impression depending on color, form, and viewing angle.
What initially seemed 'scary' gradually transforms into 'amazing' and 'interesting' the more you observe. This shift in perspective is perhaps the zone's greatest charm.

The Design: Experiencing the 'Beauty of Poison' Throughout the Space

This zone was designed by the creative team minna.
They have designed an experience that spans graphics and space, reinterpreting 'poison' in a positive light.
The striking, colorful palette is derived from the actual bodies of venomous creatures.
The space evokes a sense of vibrant life force, despite its stimulating nature.

The cafe and merchandise are also noteworthy. At the in-house cafe, 'EAT EAT EAT,' you can enjoy original menu items inspired by 'Dokunifurelu'.

・Mysterious Jellyfish Milk Tea (with a color-changing effect) (800 yen)
・Clownfish's Home Dog (900 yen)
・Pufferfish & Chips (950 yen)
*All prices include tax.

These unique, exhibition-linked menus are just the beginning. Additionally, a selection of merchandise, including pop-designed T-shirts and notebooks for creating your own field guide, caters to both children and adults.

Nifrel's 'Dokunifurelu' is more than just an exhibition; it's a space that offers an 'experience that changes your perspective'.
Discovering beauty and wisdom within things once perceived as frightening—such revelations offer a fresh sense of wonder for both adults and children.
Why not consider a slightly special museum experience that will stir your senses for this year's Golden Week?
