NEWoMan Hosts Solo Exhibition by Noted New York-Based Artist Enrico Isamu Oyama

From Thursday, June 29th to Tuesday, July 4th, LUMINE 0 on the 5th floor of NEWoMan will host "Windowsill," a solo exhibition by New York-based Japanese artist Enrico Isamu Oyama.

Born in Tokyo in 1983 to an Italian father and a Japanese mother, Oyama...

...creates murals and paintings based on his signature motif, "Quick Turn Structure," which adapts the visual language of graffiti culture.

He has collaborated with Comme des Garçons and Shu Uemura, published the book "Against Literacy: A Theory of Graffiti Culture," and is now based in New York.

Oyama has returned to Japan for this exhibition to present new works.

Using "houseplants" and "window frames" as keywords, he crafts complex spatial arrangements.

The visual dynamism, where organic lines intertwine with structural ones, is well worth experiencing.

This is a rare opportunity in Japan to see a comprehensive display of his large-scale works.

Additionally, special talk events with Oyama will be held on Saturday, July 1st, and Sunday, July 2nd.

Don't miss these as well.
