Limited to three groups per day. "Tōtōtei," a hidden gem of an auberge where Nagasaki's history breathes, has grandly opened.

Tōtōtei, an auberge in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, reborn from a Japanese-style building over 100 years old, will grandly open on September 1, 2024.

Nagasaki has long been a hub of international exchange, particularly through trade with Nanban and Tang peoples. With a unique history and culture among Japanese regions, much of its food and culture remain rooted in the city as "Wakaran Culture," exuding a distinct charm.
With the aim of inheriting the vibrancy and culture of this land, once a focal point of diverse exchanges, Tōtōtei has been reborn as an auberge.

The guest rooms consist of three spaces: the "Main House," which served as a banquet hall for the Chinese restaurant Tōtōtei from around 1949; the "Annex," a separate building used previously; and the "Storehouse," where household goods and props were kept. The interior of each room has been designed with modern furnishings, preserving the ambiance of its era, creating unique spaces where new and old aesthetics can be appreciated.

At the in-house dining room, "HAJIME," we cherish the "hospitality that lingers in the heart," inherited from the Chinese restaurant era. Here, you can savor authentic Italian cuisine, crafted with abundant seasonal ingredients, focusing on local production for local consumption, featuring Nagasaki Wagyu beef, local fish from Nagasaki Port, and vegetables from local farmers.

To commemorate the grand opening, a special plan has been prepared offering viewing of the "Nagasaki Kunchi," one of Japan's three major Kunchi festivals, from a reserved seating area, held from October 7th to 9th, 2024.
A transfer option is also available for a seamless journey from Nagasaki Airport to Tōtōtei at a special rate, in partnership with "Blue Cab," a taxi group known for its distinctive artist Yu Nagaba-wrapped taxis.

Tōtōtei, reborn as a unique auberge that honors Nagasaki's cherished traditions while offering enjoyment for all ages, is certainly one to watch.
