Haneda's new landmark, "HANEDA INNOVATION CITY®," opens its doors on November 16, 2023!
The large-scale complex, HANEDA INNOVATION CITY (abbreviated as HICity), will celebrate its grand opening on November 16, 2023.
HICity aims to be Japan's first smart airport city, fostering exchange that transcends the boundaries of 'cutting-edge' and 'culture' to realize new value creation. With the concept of 'Innovation for all who visit this city,' it aspires to be a hub where people, goods, and information from Japan and abroad gather on equal footing, sparking interaction and birthing new businesses and innovations.
To commemorate the grand opening, the 'Grand Opening Event∅' is scheduled to be held from Friday, November 17 to Sunday, November 19, 2023.
The event will feature over 50 diverse contents, including talk sessions with creators active on the global stage in 'cutting-edge' and 'cultural' fields, demonstration experiments and art exhibitions showcasing the latest technology and art, a lifestyle market highlighting businesses and projects undertaking new challenges across Japan, and activities to experience the charm of Ota Ward and Haneda. Planned are robotics demonstration experiments unique to HICity, autonomous bus experiences, the "HANEDA EXPO" showcasing cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, generative AI, and VR by Haneda Future Research Institute, and other content from technology companies.

From art focusing on Haneda's unique character to the latest art integrated with technology, art pieces and expressions will be scattered throughout HICity. Content featuring sound and light is also planned, offering an immersive artistic experience.

A market showcasing unique shops and projects from across Japan, allowing visitors to experience contemporary Japanese lifestyles. From eateries to retail and exhibitions, this market offers a unique experience at HICity, featuring shops that carry on tradition, those embracing new challenges, and projects looking toward the near future.
■ Content to Discover Ota Ward and Haneda
Activities include a photo exhibition by photographer Takashi Yasu, capturing the diverse expressions and charms of the region; a city walk event by the Tokyo Slibachi Society exploring the allure of Haneda's land; and an original mystery-solving game to deepen understanding of HICity.
