Onitsuka Tiger Releases Isetan Limited Model Themed "Ethical"
Onitsuka Tiger introduces the new MEXICO SLIP-ON DELUXE, a fresh addition to its popular "NIPPON MADE" series.
The shoes will be available from Wednesday, May 17th, at Isetan Shinjuku Main Store Men's Building, and from Wednesday, May 31st, at select directly managed Onitsuka Tiger stores nationwide.
This release was planned in conjunction with the Mitsukoshi Isetan Group's "Global Green Campaign," which proposes advanced products and experiences aimed at fostering a comfortable relationship between people and nature, and realizing a sustainable society.
The white sections of the upper and the Onitsuka Tiger stripes are crafted from "Himeji L-type leather," a traditional craft from Hyogo Prefecture. The grey side panels utilize paper yarn fibers, a natural material that is gentle on both the global environment and people.
This eco-friendly leather, made solely from natural resources without chemical agents, is environmentally sound and recyclable.
It proposes an ethical approach to footwear.
Another distinctive feature is the versatility: while designed as slip-ons, they can also be worn as sneakers by threading the included laces, offering two distinct styles.
The upper and tongue are connected by an elastic band, providing stretch across the instep. This allows for easy on and off without laces, like a slip-on, making them a comfortable and appealing choice.
