A modern design meets the elusive 90s model "Pump EVO." Reebok unveils the new "SOCK RUN.R."
Reebok has released the new "SOCK RUN.R," a model that revives the outsole of the prototype "Pump EVO," which never reached commercialization in 1996, with a modern design. It launched on Friday, May 18, 2018, as a limited edition.
For the Fall/Winter 2018 season, Reebok's running category will continue to launch new models that fuse Reebok's unique 90s running shoe technologies with contemporary designs.
The first of these is the "SOCK RUN.R."
The "SOCK RUN.R" is a highly anticipated model that first saw a release in China in November 2017 as a collaboration with "Vetements," a brand favored by prominent Japanese musicians and artists, where it sold out in just one day.
The "Split Tooling" featured on the "SOCK RUN.R" outsole is composed of four parts, creating space in the midfoot for superior lightness and comfort.
The challenge of creating a sole divided into separate parts was a groundbreaking innovation in the shoe market of the 90s.
The upper of the "SOCK RUN.R" is crafted from a comfortable knit material, resulting in a sock-like silhouette.
Furthermore, the sock portion features a playful, limited-edition print for the first model: "Not For Resale RBK Sample," as if it were a sample fresh from the factory.
Reebok plans to continue releasing shoes that leverage the unique technologies of the 90s while incorporating modern designs.
