Approximately 70% of people want to choose home appliances based on lifestyle and interior design. Otsuka Furniture conducts a survey on appliance purchases.

Otsuka Furniture conducted an online survey regarding past dissatisfactions and questions about purchasing home appliances, as well as future desires when buying them, to identify the challenges involved.

To the question, "When purchasing home appliances, do you want to choose them while imagining your lifestyle and interior design?" 66.3% responded, "I think so." On the other hand, to the question, "When you have purchased home appliances in the past, were you able to purchase them while imagining the balance with your interior design?" approximately half, 45.6%, responded, "Neither agree nor disagree / Disagree."

Despite about 70% of people wanting to purchase appliances that match their lifestyle and interior design, only about half were actually able to do so. Among those who couldn't purchase as desired, responses included "It's hard to imagine because it's different from my living space" (20s female), "I won't know until I place it in my home" (30s male), and "I couldn't get a sense of the size" (60s female), indicating difficulty in visualizing the appliances in their homes.

In fact, among those who responded that they want to choose appliances while imagining their lifestyle and interior design, 69.1% stated they would like to purchase appliances while observing the overall balance of a room in a store where furniture and appliances are coordinated as a total interior concept. Furthermore, 66.8% expressed interest in using stores that offer appliance recommendations suited to interior spaces.

While many people purchase home appliances at electronics retailers or online, and also value price and functional specifications, a significant number seem to be concerned about the matching of relatively large home appliances, such as televisions, audio equipment, and refrigerators, with their own lifestyle and interior design.

Otsuka Furniture offers a wide selection of carefully curated domestic and international furniture and interior items, along with a selection of renowned brand appliances. Unlike typical electronics stores, specialized staff for furniture and appliances provide total coordination services for both.

Expanding Appliance Sales Through Collaboration with Yamada Denki; Enhanced Convenience with Mutual Point Usage.

Through a collaboration with Yamada Denki, Otsuka Furniture has fully launched appliance sales in seven stores nationwide. Appliances are displayed and sold according to living scenarios, such as televisions for the living room, refrigerators and steam ovens for the dining room, and air purifiers for the bedroom. This offers an unprecedented shopping experience where customers can select appliances along with furniture while visualizing their lifestyle and interior design.

Among the seven stores selling appliances, Shinjuku, Yokohama Minatomirai, and Nagoya Sakae now feature dedicated appliance floors. These stores have been reborn as spaces that propose a new way of choosing items for the home, presenting appliances as part of the interior design.

Additionally, at stores offering appliance sales, Yamada points can now be used when purchasing furniture. Previously, Yamada points were for appliance purchases and IDC Partner's points were for furniture purchases, with IDC Partner's points also applicable to appliance purchases. By expanding the range of usable points, the convenience of selecting furniture and appliances as a total package in one stop has been further enhanced.
*Applicable stores are the seven Otsuka Furniture locations with appliance sales: Shinjuku, Yokohama Minatomirai, Nagoya Sakae, Ariake Head Office, Osaka Nanko, Kobe, and Fukuoka.
*Point conversion is 1 point = 1 yen for both.
*Regarding point usage, the combined use of Yamada points and IDC Partner's points is also possible.
*Regarding point accrual, as before, Yamada points will be awarded for appliance purchases, and IDC Partner's points for furniture purchases.
*IDC Partner's points cannot be used at Yamada Denki stores.

Furthermore, Otsuka Furniture offers a virtual showroom and remote consulting services.

The virtual showroom allows users to view the actual store interiors on the official website. Even without visiting a physical store, customers can browse and find desired products from the extensive selection on display from the comfort of their homes.

Additionally, consulting services for furniture and appliances are available remotely from home. Through this service, customers can consult with specialized staff about interior design via phone or LINE chat. Interior advisors will directly address interior design concerns and questions, offering a convenient at-home consulting experience.

Amidst the spread of COVID-19, receiving the same quality of customer service as in-store from home is greatly appreciated. With more people spending time at home due to remote work, why not consider a total coordination of furniture and appliances at Otsuka Furniture if you're re-evaluating your interior design?
