Hans J. Wegner, the Danish designer behind the highly popular Y Chair and The Chair in Japan. In his later years, Wegner kept only two chairs for his personal use: the dining chair "PP701" and the lounge chair "Bear Chair." Designed in 1951, the Bear Chair earned its nickname because its armrests resemble the embracing paws of a bear. During this exhibition, customers who purchase the Bear Chair will receive a complimentary ottoman set at the price of the chair alone. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a piece that will last a lifetime.

Additionally, a talk show will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 5th, featuring Ken Hasiba, representative of the Scandinavian Living Tokyo branch. Hasiba, who had a close relationship with Wegner, his wife Inge, and Aina Petersen, the workshop manager at PP Møbler, will share his unique insights.

The Masterpiece "Bear Chair" Left by Wegner
Hans J. Wegner, a renowned Danish furniture designer, created numerous timeless masterpieces. The lounge chair, "PP19," popularly known as the "Bear Chair," was named for its comforting embrace, reminiscent of a bear's hug, and its form, where the tips of the armrests resemble a bear's paws reaching out. The "Bear Chair," with its dignified yet approachable rounded proportions, is said to be the only lounge chair Wegner, who designed hundreds of works throughout his life, took with him to his personal space in his final years. It is a masterpiece that embodies both comfort and presence, worthy of being called a life partner.
