An exhibition by product designer Shin Azumi, titled "Life around the Table" - exploring life centered around the table and the products that support it.

An exhibition of new furniture and tableware by Shin Azumi, a product designer active on the world stage, titled "Life around the Table," will be held at Estic Formax Omotesando.

It has been a year and a half since Shin Azumi relocated his base from London to Tokyo. How does design, strongly influenced by daily life, change with environmental shifts? Centered on the theme of "Life centered around the table and the products that support it," the exhibition will showcase a collection of older and newer tableware and water servers, which have rarely been presented together in Japan, alongside new furniture designed after his return to the country.

Shin Azumi, Product Designer / Professor at Hosei University
Born in Kobe in 1965. After graduating from Kyoto City University of Arts, he worked at NEC Design Center before completing his Master's degree at the Royal College of Art in the UK in 1994. He then based himself in London and worked as the design unit "AZUMI" from 1995, establishing his personal office "a studio" in 2005. He has been involved in product design for many international companies, including T-fal (France) and lapalma (Italy). He has received numerous awards both domestically and internationally, including the FX International Design Award "Product of the Year" (UK). He has also participated as a judge in awards such as the iF Award (Germany). His "LEM" stool has been selected for the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), and his works are housed in museums worldwide. In 2016, he moved his base to Japan and was appointed Professor in the Department of System Design, Faculty of Design Engineering at Hosei University. He also serves as a visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts and Kobe Design University.
