'IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living' Opens November 20th; Special Project 'Office-Up' to Showcase Office Space Ideas

The trade fair 'IFFT/Interior Lifestyle Living,' where products from furniture-producing regions across Japan, tableware, design goods, and daily necessities will gather, will be held for three days from Wednesday, November 20th to Friday, November 22nd, 2019, in the South Hall of Tokyo Big Sight. This year, exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, totaling 347 companies (as of October 7th), have gathered.

Special Project 'Office-Up' on the Theme of Offices to be Held

With Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida (SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE Co., Ltd.) joining as new directors this year, we will present
a special project themed around offices, 'Office-Up.' We will propose new office concepts for the future alongside domestic and international furniture brands.
Furthermore, within the HOME zone, an 'Office Style' area will be established, gathering office-related products such as home-use furniture, lighting, and interior accessories that can also be used in offices. Ideas for new office spaces and work styles are planned to be introduced.

In the 'CREATIVE RESOURCE' zone, specializing in parts and materials for renovation and interior design, a special exhibition project titled 'What is Upcycling?' will be held, directed by architect Keiji Ashizawa.
This exhibition will showcase upcycling as envisioned by various designers and architects active in the industry, with upcycling generally meaning 'enhanced recycling.'
At the 'HEIMTEXTIL TRENDS LOUNGE,' we offer a lounge where you can experience the latest trends from 'Heimtextil,' the international trade fair for home and contract textiles held annually in Frankfurt, Germany, in January. In conjunction with this, 'Artistic Textile Editors Tokyo 2019,' featuring four home textile editor companies curated by Yoshio Minamimura, representative of NEED'K textile, will also be held. This special project, which reaffirms the power and beauty of textiles, not only allows you to experience the latest trends but also facilitates business negotiations and purchasing.

ERIF (Erif) / OUTDOOR GAS BOILER: A portable, instantaneous gas water heater that requires no AC power and simply connects to a water supply, born from the desire to 'use hot water outdoors without interruption.'
Suigetsu: A ceramic tea set made from roof tiles. It achieves functionality by adsorbing bitter components without using glaze, extracting only umami and sweetness. This is a collaborative product with 'Anma Tea,' tea farmers in Fukuroi, Shizuoka Prefecture.
