FabCafe Global, a digital fabrication cafe with a worldwide network, is seeking mask design ideas for a better future from creators around the globe.
From widespread wildfires and pandemics to nationwide demonstrations, the events unfolding globally have dramatically elevated the importance of masks. The COVID-19 pandemic has simultaneously driven up demand for medical masks in major cities worldwide and caused prices to skyrocket, creating a "mask shortage" that has become a societal issue. This challenge invites ideas for all types of masks, from highly functional designs to stylish ones that people will be eager to wear, all centered on the theme of masks becoming an everyday necessity.
Submissions can be in the form of prototypes or even simple sketches. Why not update the mask, an item becoming an essential part of daily life, with your own unique ideas?

Prizes: Judges' Award (approx. 8-12 winners), FabCafe Award (1 winner)
Winning entries will be exhibited at FabCafe Tokyo and featured in media content from FabCafe Global.
