About the EGG™ Chair
The EGG™ chair was designed for the lobby and reception areas of the SAS Royal Hotel.
To achieve its perfect form, Arne Jacobsen sculpted the shell design using clay, much like a sculptor. The innovative use of a hard polyurethane foam inner shell beneath the upholstery was groundbreaking for its time, realizing a flawless design. The EGG™ chair's form creates a sense of privacy even in public spaces.
It remains a beloved chair in public facilities and private homes around the world today.

Arne Jacobsen was an architect who left a significant mark on the history of postwar modern design.
