SIBAST FURNITURE, a Danish furniture brand, makes its debut in Japan.

SIBAST FURNITURE, a Danish furniture brand sold in 16 countries worldwide, has finally arrived in Japan.

Sales have begun online and at three stores nationwide (Tokyo, Ishikawa, and Mie).

SIBAST FURNITURE is a furniture brand that began on the island of Funen, Denmark, in 1908.

During its peak in the 1960s, it grew to employ 120 workers, becoming one of Denmark's leading furniture manufacturers.

This peak was achieved through the successful collaboration between the founder's second generation, Helge Sibast, and furniture designer Arne Vodder, whose designs remain popular both domestically and internationally.

Although the company temporarily ceased operations in 1984, it was revived in 2012 by Helge Sibast's grandson, Ditlev Sibast, and his wife, Anna Sibast.

The items released this time are two chairs designed by Helge Sibast in 1953: the Sibast No. 7 and the Sibast No. 8.

The Sibast No. 8 is an innovative masterpiece that fuses the tradition of Windsor chairs with the durability, comfort, and beauty of Danish modern design.

Meanwhile, the Sibast No. 7 features a crest rail crafted from laminated plywood, a novel approach at the time, and its curved backrest offers a comfortable fit.

It is a highly refined chair, a testament to sophisticated craftsmanship.
