Since launching in the Japanese market in 1986, Nespresso has been a pioneer in the capsule coffee market, continuously releasing new models. The "VERTUO" is a completely new coffee system. It is an innovative coffee system that allows you to enjoy authentic, professional-quality coffee with a rich crema*1 and mellow aroma in five cup sizes: Alto (approx. 414ml), Mug (approx. 230ml), Gran Lungo (approx. 150ml), Double Espresso (approx. 80ml), and Espresso (approx. 40ml), including a Mug size (approx. 230ml) that can be enjoyed in large servings.

■ A New Coffee Experience
With the message "A New Ritual. Enjoy Coffee and Crema Together," VERTUO is a coffee system that proposes a new way to enjoy coffee. By defining the act of stirring the rich, unprecedentedly thick crema with a spoon and enjoying it with the coffee as a "new ritual," this new ritual further enhances the mellow aroma and creates a soft mouthfeel.

Nespresso's expertise in coffee making and innovative technology have made it possible to achieve the complex extraction conditions required for brewing flavorful coffee—which vary depending on the type of coffee bean, roast level, and grind—with a single touch operation.

■ Innovative Technology for Optimal Extraction
The VERTUO coffee maker is equipped with the newly developed "Centrifusion™" extraction technology. Unlike Nespresso's traditional coffee makers that use high-pressure extraction, VERTUO spins the capsule while injecting hot water using centrifugal force, allowing the water to reach all the coffee grounds within the capsule. This steaming process enhances the unique aroma and flavor of each coffee bean. Additionally, a barcode printed on the rim of each capsule contains the optimal extraction settings for that specific blend. By automatically reading this barcode, the machine can achieve optimal extraction—including cup size, rotation speed, water volume, water temperature, and blooming time—for each blend with just the touch of a button, making it accessible to anyone.

■ A Variety of 25 Coffees

In the Japanese market, where over 80% of at-home coffee drinkers enjoy their coffee in large cups*2, VERTUO offers 14 types of coffee in Mug size or larger out of its 25 varieties. This provides a satisfying lineup for those who enjoy longer coffee moments. The VERTUO-exclusive capsule coffees, with their distinctive dome shape designed to lock in aroma, include coffees made from single-origin beans with unique regional processing methods, coffees to be enjoyed with milk, and decaffeinated options.
