Limited Edition Sale: Poul Henningsen's 125th Anniversary Model 'PH Artichoke Copper/Rose'
DANSK MØBEL GALLERY, an interior shop in Tokyo's Ginza district specializing in Danish furniture, has begun exhibiting and selling the "PH Artichoke Copper / Rose," a limited edition model commemorating the 125th anniversary of Poul Henningsen's birth.
Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) was a designer who created numerous masterpieces for the global lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen. He was a designer who pursued beautiful functionalism throughout his life, and many of his works continue to be cherished today.
Among his designs, the "PH Artichoke," first unveiled in 1958, established itself as a design icon and a masterpiece of lighting. To celebrate the 125th anniversary of this great designer Poul Henningsen's birth in 2019, a special edition "Copper / Rose" of the PH Artichoke is now on display and will be sold for a limited time in 2019.

When Poul Henningsen designed the iconic PH Artichoke in 1958, he chose "solid copper" with a hairline finish for the shades, and a "rose" hue for the interior. This combination of copper and rose added warmth to the lamp's organic form and beautifully reflected the light from the concealed light source within.
The PH Artichoke Copper / Rose is presented in a form close to the original. The underside of the shades, usually white, is a soft rose color, and the surface of the shades has a stronger sheen than the standard version.
The Copper / Rose PH Artichoke is available for a limited time only in 2019, and one of the top shades is engraved with Poul Henningsen's signature to commemorate his birth.
