The originator of the 'tawashi' (scrubber), hailed as one of Japan's three great inventions, Nishio Shoten, the company that continues to produce the Kame-no-ko Tawashi, celebrates its 110th anniversary this year.
To commemorate this milestone, BEAMS is hosting a pop-up store at BEAMS JAPAN in Shinjuku from Wednesday, June 7th to Tuesday, July 4th.
In collaboration with UNITED ARROWS' lifestyle goods label 'STYLE FOR LIVING,' the event will feature unique products such as Kame-no-ko Tawashi with a revived paper-wrapped package, Kame-no-ko sponges created in the brand colors of BEAMS, UNITED ARROWS, and Kame-no-ko Tawashi, and Kame notebooks in collaboration with 'Papier Labo,' a purveyor of paper and paper-related products.
Furthermore, on Sunday, June 18th, a workshop will be held where participants can experience making Kame-no-ko Tawashi with artisans, making this a highly anticipated event that offers a new perspective on the charm of Kame-no-ko Tawashi.
