Garuda Indonesia currently operates 32 direct flights per week from Japan to Indonesia (as of February 2014) and plans to launch a direct flight from Haneda to Jakarta on June 16 (Monday) (subject to government approval). On March 5, the airline officially joined the global airline alliance "SkyTeam" as the 20th member airline worldwide and the second in Southeast Asia, gaining access to 1,064 cities in 178 countries.
Through this membership, passengers can also utilize "SkyPriority," a priority service for "Elite Plus" members who earn miles with alliance airlines, and for those traveling in First or Executive Class. This includes access to 564 lounges worldwide and other comprehensive services.
Garuda Indonesia's exclusive "In-flight Immigration Program"
Garuda Indonesia offers an "In-flight Immigration Program" on its flights from Narita and Kansai, where arrival visas are issued and immigration checks are completed onboard. This is a unique service offered only by Garuda worldwide, allowing for a smooth entry into Indonesia upon arrival through a dedicated counter.
A secure flight with Japanese flight attendants
The Narita-Jakarta route utilizes the latest "B777-300ER" aircraft, which features a First Class cabin. For First Class passengers, a dedicated butler provides support upon arrival and departure in Indonesia. Additionally, limousine service (choice of Mercedes or Alphard) is available upon request for arrivals and departures in Indonesia. Japanese cabin crew are onboard flights departing from and arriving in Japan, ensuring peace of mind.
Garuda Indonesia also offers a "Sports Equipment/Musical Instrument Check Service" for passengers who wish to enjoy sports at their destination. In addition to the standard free checked baggage allowance, one case of sports equipment (up to 23kg) can be checked in for free per person.
