Turkey: Gateway to Exotic Lands & Sophisticated Aegean Resorts | TRAVEL

TRAVEL | [Short Series] 9 Reasons to Visit Turkey Now

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Japanese travelers.
Go to Gorgeous Frontier: Turkey! Vol. 4

Turkish cuisine is simple yet profound, drawing out the distinct flavors of seafood, meat, and vegetables. While a wide range of spices are gathered through extensive trade, the way flavors are assembled feels somewhat similar to Japanese cuisine. In other words, the taste appeals to the Japanese palate.

How many kinds of cheese alone were there? The selection was astounding. The ham, bread, fruits, and vegetables were all incredibly fresh, lifting my spirits. Next to the cow's milk, there were pitchers of almond and hazelnut milk. Three kinds of milk alone – it was simply wonderful. The honey was fresh, scraped from the comb with a spoon. This was my first experience like this. Turkey has 100% self-sufficiency in vegetables and nuts. It's astonishing how different the dining table is in a country rich in ingredients; I was overwhelmed from the morning.

What you eat becomes what your body is made of. At Six Senses, you only consume good things for your body, so it's impossible not to feel healthy. The chefs are knowledgeable about cooking methods that enhance immunity and activate gut bacteria, in addition to selecting fresh, organic ingredients. As I listened and nodded in understanding, I felt my body and mind being refreshed.

This is an Italian restaurant in a separate building, but the dining area for breakfast has a similar atmosphere.

Furthermore, to make your stay at Six Senses even more beneficial, we recommend utilizing the "Six Senses Integrated Wellness" program. Based on screening data such as body composition, metabolism, blood oxygen levels, cardiac and circulatory function, and stress parameters, dedicated staff will create a personalized stay program. They will suggest what nutrients to consume, what exercises to do, and what spa treatments would be beneficial.

The program incorporates nutrition, sleep medicine, exercise, alternative therapies, holistic treatments, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. In a superb location along the Aegean Sea, you can enjoy relaxation and experience wellness similar to that of a destination spa (a resort focused on improving specific goals like physical constitution, stress reduction, or weight loss).

The purpose of the trip is to detoxify mind and body through a hotel stay. It's a very luxurious travel style, but as explained earlier, it makes sense to go to Turkey now.

*Six Senses Hotels Resorts in Turkey are closed for the winter until April 14, 2019.

Reason 7

Turkey is an exceptionally pro-Japanese nation. Japanese people are treated kindly.

The reason for this is clearly explained in the 2015 Japanese-Turkish co-production film "1890: The Sea." In 1890, a ship carrying an Ottoman goodwill mission capsized off the coast of Wakayama Prefecture. The sincere actions of the villagers of Kushimoto at that time deeply moved the Turkish people. This episode is so cherished and passed down that it is even included in current Turkish textbooks, which is why Turkish people feel such a close affinity towards us Japanese.

Reason 8

Wine tourism is also beginning to take root in Turkey.

In the past, Greeks who settled in Asia Minor, then part of Turkey, established the culture of wine cultivation and enjoyment in the land. Today, small wineries offer wine tastings along with accommodation. For example,URLA WineryoffersTwo Rooms Hotel. It truly has only two rooms, but it's so popular that it boasts a high rating of 9.4 on Booking.com. It requires a car journey from Izmir, Turkey's third-largest city, but it's a recommended destination for wine lovers confident in driving abroad.

Reason 9
