A New Experience to Savor Ardbeg with All Five Senses, Long-Awaited by "Ardbegans"

Since resuming operations in 1997, Ardbeg has cultivated a fervent following with its smoky, distinctive flavor. Devoted Ardbeg lovers are known as "Ardbegans," with thousands visiting the distillery each year. The newly opened Ardbeg House is a hotel meticulously designed to invite these fans into an even deeper world.
Ardbeg House was designed by Russell Sage Studio, an interior design firm based in London, UK. Throughout the interior, artworks by skilled artisans from Scotland and the Isle of Islay are displayed, narrating how the region's culture and traditions nurtured Ardbeg's whisky-making.
Each of the 12 guest rooms offers a unique world. They are adorned with decorations symbolizing Islay and whisky culture, such as copper wall art crafted from actual pot stills and custom-made boat-shaped chandeliers.
Notably, there is a button engraved with "Press for Smoke." Pressing it reveals a hidden dram, a playful and engaging feature.
The hotel features restaurants and bars where guests can enjoy Ardbeg's sensory experience. Not only hotel guests but also local residents can savor a range of Scottish dishes and drinks specially arranged in the Ardbeg style.
At the center of the signature restaurant is the "Fire Table," where guests can indulge in Ardbeg-style cuisine made with local ingredients. Furthermore, every Friday, the "Shorty's Table" is set, named after Ardbeg's famous mascot dog, Shorty. It serves as a communal space to share and enjoy a special time with other guests.
Meanwhile, the "Islay Bar" offers an extensive selection of rare Ardbeg bottlings from various eras, allowing guests to enjoy special, exclusive bottles by the glass. It features collector's items such as the Ardbeg House Reserve, exclusive to this facility, alongside distillery-exclusive bottlings like Ardbeg Homecoming and Ardbeg Badger Juice.
The "Ardbeg House Reserve" is a 21-year-old single malt whisky available only at this establishment. Matured meticulously in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, it is bottled at cask strength.
With a limited production of only 800 bottles, each is individually numbered. Its flavor, a perfect harmony of sea-salt aroma, smoky nuances, and the sweetness of ripe figs, represents the pinnacle of Ardbeg's unique character.
The "Ardbeg Homecoming" was created as the "ultimate reward" for those visiting the Isle of Islay. Matured in bourbon casks and then finished in rum casks, it offers the robust intensity of cask strength alongside tropical aromas of ripe banana and pineapple. This is layered with spicy nuances and Ardbeg's classic peat smoke, resulting in a truly unique expression.
The most elusive is "Ardbeg Badger Juice." Available only by the glass at the "Islay Bar," this special whisky is a masterpiece crafted by Master Blender Gillian Macdonald and produced in very limited quantities.
Its composition is based on an extremely limited recipe, the details of which remain undisclosed. Every evening at 6:15 PM, in honor of Ardbeg's founding year of 1815, a single dram is poured from a special cask. This unrepeatable, rare pour can only be savored in that precise moment.
Casper Macrory, President and CEO of The Glenmorangie Company, stated, "The Isle of Islay has been Ardbeg's home for over 200 years. We are immensely proud to now offer world-class whisky and hospitality experiences in the heart of Port Ellen." He added, "Ardbeg House is an unparalleled destination that will further enhance Islay's reputation as a premier whisky tourism location worldwide."
Ardbeg House is a singular destination dedicated to all who love Ardbeg. This establishment, where the 200-year-old whisky culture of Islay merges with contemporary hospitality, is poised to become a pilgrimage site for whisky lovers worldwide.
