Featuring "JAZZY BOOKS," a Bookstore Dedicated to Jazz

Shuya Okino, active in various fields as a curator and writer, presents "BLACK&WHITE ~Shuya Okino Jazz Portrait Exhibition," an exhibition of portraits of jazz musicians, from legends to emerging artists, rendered in brushstrokes, now on display at Daikanyama T-Site.

This marks his third solo exhibition, following "ANOTHER FACE ~Shuya Okino Illustration Exhibition" held at Barnaby's New York Shinjuku, and "Breathing Visuals ~Shuya Okino Collection & Creation Exhibition" at Gallery Cafe TETOKA in Kanda.

The works are created with an unprecedented approach, depicting the expressions of jazz musicians using calligraphic techniques with a brush.

A unique world is created through the contrasting harmonies of stillness and motion, East and West, black and white.

During the exhibition period, "JAZZY BOOKS," a bookstore specializing in jazz, will also be open. This is a nomadic bookstore that began its operations in January 2016. It offers a curated selection of books on jazz, including essays, biographies, novels, poetry collections, photo books, and cover art collections, all with a focus on design.

Additionally, record jackets using works from the photobook and renowned albums featuring prominent artists are available as art pieces. Items that allow for deep immersion into the world of jazz have been selected.

How musicians perceive and express other musicians through their work is a subject of endless fascination. We encourage you to experience this special exhibition firsthand.
