What We Can Do Five Years After the Great East Japan Earthquake

On the 11th of Every Month, Light a Candle for Someone You Cherish

Established in 2011 following the Great East Japan Earthquake, the general incorporated association "LOVE FOR NIPPON" continues to support those affected by the disaster. This year, marking five years since the earthquake, they have launched a new project titled "CANDLE 11th." The first event in this series will be held on the 10th of this month (Sunday) at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo.

This Month, Head to Yoyogi Park the Night Before CANDLE 11th

LOVE FOR NIPPON, led by candle artist Candle JUNE, has been providing support to disaster victims since the earthquake, including hot meals and supplies in Fukushima. With the hope of creating a chain of happiness, they currently hold a participatory event called "Candle Night" on the 11th of every month in Fukushima Prefecture.

Entering its fifth year since the earthquake, the new project "CANDLE 11th," launched this year, is a call to light candles with thoughts of the earthquake, enabling connection with Fukushima regardless of where you are or who you are with. In anticipation of this project's launch, "CANDLE 11th - LIGHT FOR FUKUSHIMA -" will be held on Sunday, January 10th, at Yoyogi Park.

The event will feature live performances by musicians supporting the cause, workshops, and a market, offering a fulfilling experience for both adults and children. As dusk settles, countless candles created by Candle JUNE, along with candles bearing messages of remembrance and hope for recovery, will be lit.

On the following day, January 11th, why not extinguish the lights and try lighting a candle yourself? In the warm glow of the candles, you may feel the preciousness of a peaceful moment and the bonds with your loved ones.
