Richard Mille is Reshaping the Future of Golf with a New Tournament Launch

Richard Mille continues to innovate in the watchmaking world by fusing technology and craftsmanship. In addition to its presence in F1 and tennis, the brand is now making a significant impact on the golf scene in Japan. In late July 2025, the "Richard Mille Charity Tournament 2025" will be newly established as an official event on the men's professional golf tour.

Luxury and Charity: An Inseparable Bond

The tournament, co-organized and managed by host Richard Mille Japan and the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), will take place at Noto Country Club in Ishikawa Prefecture. Its objectives are to support the recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake and heavy rains that occurred in 2024, and simultaneously promote the development of junior golfers. This event transcends the boundaries of a typical golf tournament, poised to become a venue where luxury, sports, and social contribution converge.
"Golf, like our watchmaking, is a crystallization of precise techniques built over time and shares a very similar philosophy," says Keita Kawasaki, President of Richard Mille Japan.
Keita Kawasaki, President and Representative Director of Richard Mille Japan.
Richard Mille watches are engineered to withstand the intense G-forces and impact shocks experienced during a swing. Technologies such as ultra-lightweight materials like Grade 5 titanium and Carbon TPT®, used in the movement and bridge structures, achieve a balance of durability and design.
Noto Country Club is renowned for its spectacular course overlooking the Sea of Japan. Its fairways, lined with pine trees, and the sea breeze will test the players' skills. During the tournament, a morning market offering fresh local produce will be held, along with exhibitions and sales of Noto's traditional crafts, promising a unique experience.
Furthermore, on July 29th and 30th, immediately preceding the main tournament, a special invitation-only "Richard Mille Charity Pair Match 2025" will be held. Sixteen male and sixteen female professional golfers will form pairs to compete in a highly entertaining exhibition match. This event, going beyond mere competition, will offer spectators a chance to experience a new dimension of golf.
Yutaka Morohoshi, Chairman of the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO).
"Golf is a sport that grows alongside its local community. The ability to provide support through golf, especially to regions affected by disaster, holds significant meaning," states Yutaka Morohoshi, Chairman of the JGTO. He expresses his commitment to showcasing a new form of golf tour that progresses in harmony with local communities.
This tournament plans to invite local junior golfers free of charge and host a lesson session with participating professional players. Miraiyume Horikawa, Vice Chairman of the Japan Golf Tour Players Association, commented, "Making spectating free will provide an opportunity for more people to appreciate the appeal of men's golf. It will be a particularly valuable experience for children to witness the play up close."

Echoing Horikawa's sentiment, Mitsunari Akutsu, Vice Chairman of the Japan Golf Tour Players Association, shares his hopes for the future. "The junior golfer lesson sessions are a wonderful initiative. I didn't have such opportunities when I was a child, so it's gratifying to see the next generation of golfers nurtured through these events."
Richard Mille has actively engaged in social contribution through sports. Following the Great East Japan Earthquake recovery efforts, the brand has continued its charitable activities in Japan, and this tournament is a continuation of that spirit.
"When discussing luxury, it cannot be complete without charitable activities. That is Richard Mille's conviction," says President Kawasaki. The brand, known for its innovative challenges in the watchmaking industry, is now poised to establish a new standard in the world of golf.
The Richard Mille Charity Tournament 2025 is a venue for creating a new golf culture and a challenge for the future where sports and luxury intersect. Horikawa passionately expresses his vision for the four days where precision engineering and exceptional spirit will converge amidst the beautiful natural landscape of Noto.
"As professional golfers, our primary role is to inspire through our play. By showcasing our full effort until the very last shot, we aim to convey the significance of this charity."
Spectating will be free of charge, with advance registration expected (details to be announced later on the tournament website). A fireworks display is also scheduled for the evenings during the tournament. We invite both golf enthusiasts and first-time spectators to experience a unique time that can only be found here.
