Recipient of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival

Director Frederick Wiseman, known for works such as "Crazy Horse" and "La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet." A master of documentary filmmaking, he had long yearned to capture the National Gallery, Britain's national museum, on film for over three decades.

His wish finally granted, Wiseman spent three months intimately documenting the National Gallery. The cameras captured unseen areas, restoration work in progress, staff engaging with masterpieces by Michelangelo, Picasso, Turner, and Leonardo da Vinci, as well as the daily workshops and guided tours.

The film was presented at the 71st Venice International Film Festival last August, where Wiseman was honored with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, recognizing his extensive contributions to cinema.
