This time, we introduced two wonderful films and documentaries, both soon to be released. Additionally, we featured an exclusive preview of a track remixed by Four Tet, who will perform at the Electraglide electronic music festival this autumn, from Ultraista—a new band making their debut this fall, launched by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. We also played a jazzy, modern tune with a memorable piano and handclap arrangement from the new release by Submotion Orchestra, hailing from Leeds, UK, following their acclaimed debut that fused cinematic sounds with dubstep and jazz.

At the recent London Olympics, Jamaica showcased overwhelming power in men's track and field, led by Usain Bolt. It was a moving scene that graced the 50th anniversary of the host nation's independence.
And when speaking of Jamaica's representative music, it's reggae. The legendary artist Bob Marley, who served as a global ambassador for its spread and even engaged in politics for his country's peace, passed away over 30 years ago at the young age of 36. The first official documentary about him is finally set to screen in Japan. Through testimonies from family, friends, and musical collaborators, alongside his many hit songs, it recounts his great journey and lesser-known episodes.
"No Woman No Cry," which I first heard in a club in my late teens, was also my first encounter with reggae. It was a wonderful documentary film that made me want to revisit his work after watching it.

Based on a true story, this film begins with a wealthy Parisian paralyzed from the neck down after an accident who hires a young man from an immigrant family living in the slums as his caregiver. It is a story of friendship between two men living in vastly different circumstances.
Unlike typical films that might preach or feel heavy when depicting such serious situations, this movie skillfully avoids those pitfalls. The cynical and comical exchanges, characteristic of the French, elicit laughter, while still prompting reflection on the issues at hand. This balance, I believe, led to its phenomenal success in France and across Europe. Personally, the film made me consider two things: "Don't overthink when interacting with people," and "Live each moment to the fullest."
And I was delighted to discover later that François Cluzet, who played the wealthy Philippe, was the same actor who portrayed the young man devotedly supporting the jazz musician protagonist in "Round Midnight," a film that was one of the catalysts for my own entry into this world.
