Supporting Bartenders Who Lost Income

Community engagement initiatives against the novel coronavirus have begun at Remy Cointreau Group's production sites worldwide. While primarily focused on distributing disinfectant alcohol and masks, the group has also started supporting the critical situation faced by the bartender community with whom they regularly collaborate.
In France, production sites for spirits such as "Rémy Martin" in Cognac and "Cointreau" in Angers have donated neutral alcohol to produce hand sanitizer at local medical facilities. This is being used by doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies in the region. Medical masks have also been donated.
At the "Bruichladdich" distillery on the Isle of Islay in Scotland, they are producing hand sanitizer in collaboration with a local soap maker and distributing it directly to the island's hospitals and doctors upon request.
In the United States, to support bartenders who have lost income due to business closures caused by the coronavirus, a donation of $200,000 was made to the "US Bartenders' Guild National Charity Foundation." At the "Westland" distillery in Seattle, hand sanitizer is being produced for public institutions and medical facilities in Washington State, where infections are rapidly increasing.

Additionally, the "Mount Gay" distillery in Barbados, which produces rum in the Caribbean, is providing alcohol to pharmacies to support the production of hand sanitizer for use in the island's hospitals. In China, as a second phase of donations from the Remy Cointreau Group, one million yuan (approximately 15 million yen) was donated to the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, which is being used to purchase medical equipment.

Eric Vallet, CEO of the Remy Cointreau Group, commented, "Since the beginning of this crisis, it has become more important than ever to embody our values of 'terroir, people, and time' and demonstrate solidarity and mutual support. We intend to continue the activities of our teams in various locations to the best of our ability within the scope of our human and financial resources, and for as long as this situation requires."
