Exciting Projects Include "G-plus," Featuring Galleries of Contemporary Art

Art Fair Tokyo showcases a diverse range of art, from Japanese paintings to Western-style paintings and contemporary art, all under one roof. It is Japan's largest art event, with participation from over 150 galleries and companies, both domestic and international.

This year's fair features a lineup of stimulating projects. Among them is "G-plus (G-Plus)," a new addition this year, where leading Japanese galleries specializing in contemporary art will present highly curated projects. Collaborations with galleries of antique art are also planned, promising a depth of experience unique to Art Fair Tokyo.

Furthermore, "Tokyo Limited," which began last year to introduce applied arts such as crafts, jewelry, and fashion within an art context, will present a wide array of crafts including vessels, beadwork, and glass, expanding the realm of Japanese art. Additionally,Mercedes-Benzas a featuring brand for "Fashion Week TOKYO," clothing, accessories, and small items from the brand "matohu" by Hiroyuki Horihata and Makiko Sekiguchi will be exhibited and sold in an installation format.

The fourth iteration of "Artistic Practices" is themed "Modernity Created by Japan." Modern paintings by artists such as Ryuzaburo Umehara, Sōtarō Yasui, Tsuguharu Foujita, and Morikazu Kumagai, representative of Japanese expression, will be gathered as if in a museum. In addition, there will be "Discover Asia," featuring galleries from Asia that have garnered attention in recent years, and talk events with invited artists.

Furthermore, the special exhibition section "Outlines" is set to feature a total of six special exhibitions, proposed by galleries and recommended by working groups. Notably, the participation of "Covered Tokyo" by four galleries and an exclusive one-night party at the Park Hotel Tokyo in Shiodome are points of interest.

Art Fair Tokyo satisfies all art enthusiasts. As an official media partner, OPENERS is dedicating a special feature to convey the allure of this exhibition over three installments. Stay tuned for further updates.
