The word "taoyaka" comes to mind. It describes a graceful, supple quality, and might just be one of the most exquisite words in the Japanese language.
The "Dictador Generations En Lalique" is a masterpiece that exudes this taoyaka quality, both in its appearance and its aura. It's fitting that Dictador, a captivating spirit, would be the one to collaborate with Lalique for the first time on a rum.
A rich aroma tickles the nose. This is surely a sweet temptation.
The rum's intoxicatingly sweet, whispering aroma is akin to a man's cologne. Hesitantly, one is drawn into its beauty. The "spirit" that has matured to be strong and beautiful over 45 years possesses a true elegance. It is as deep as the sea that nurtured the rum, and like the sunset, it invites us into sentimentality.
The bottle beckons once more.
Like Lalique's perfume bottles, it dramatically recreates the sea that nurtured the rum, with its waves and sunset, before our eyes. The decanter, born from Lalique's DNA which elevated crystal glass to an art form, not only appeals visually but, much like a perfume bottle, seems to enhance the rum's aroma with its entire exquisite form.
Notes arrive like gentle waves (a three-stage gradation of aroma). And it is the LALIQUE bottle that embodies this. I hear that the brand's founder, René Lalique, elevated glass products to works of art by expressing a small universe within perfume bottles. This is precisely why the pairing with a premium rum brand that crafts rum into an art form through long-term aging is so unwavering.
The rare rum, "Dictador Generations En Lalique," is limited to 300 bottles. Furthermore, the prototype with the serial number "No. 0" was sold at Sotheby's online auction for a high price of £30,000 (approximately 4.5 million yen), making it one of the most expensive rums in history, which is understandable.
A taoyaka spirit, DICTADORE GENERATIONS EN LALIQUE. Let us consider it a piece to be appreciated.

Tasting Notes
Nose: A scent of freshly polished wood, with hints of leather and ripe plum, and a subtle note of clove. It continues with cocoa powder, black cherry, nutmeg, and cinnamon, revealing a faint aroma of deep mahogany, and finally, a hint of pineapple and rose petals.

Palate: Upon tasting, there are deep notes of dark chocolate, with subtle hints of candied orange peel and clove. This is followed by nutmeg, dry oak, rich leather, and Madagascar vanilla bean, with the complexity enhanced by fine coffee and a touch of star anise. The balance of ripe fruit sweetness is superb, rounded out by wild spice flavors.

Finish: Smoky notes of burnt cigar are enhanced by oak spice, with a light sweetness of plump raisins, stewed prunes, Medjool dates, and fig leaves. It concludes with rich dark chocolate notes and drier, wilder oak spice.
