Mercian has launched "Maker's Recipe Sparkling with Peel," the second release in its "Maker's Recipe" series of craft sparkling wines, developed by a young brewer.

Mercian proposes "sparkling wines that are easy to drink, easy to buy, and easy to use, allowing for enjoyment in a variety of casual settings." Among these, "Maker's Recipe Sparkling with Hops," released in June 2020, became a hit, particularly among younger consumers, as a craft sparkling wine that fused "hops" and "wine" through the collaboration of Mercian and Kirin Group's technologies.

The newly released "Maker's Recipe Sparkling with Peel," the second in the series, is a novel sparkling wine that allows you to savor the subtle bitterness, brought out by infusing whole lemon peel directly into the wine.

Yuta Watanabe, the young brewer behind the development, commented, "Infusing fresh fruit peel into wine is a first for Mercian, and we meticulously focused on the infusion concentration, duration, and temperature to achieve the ideal aroma and flavor. This product is filled with the passion and extra effort of us, the creators."

The refreshing aroma of citrus peel blends with the clean taste of grapes, and the alcohol content is a lower-than-usual 8%. It is finished with a luxurious taste that is easy to drink.

"Maker's Recipe Sparkling with Peel" can also be enjoyed as a daily sparkling. This new creation shines with the fresh sensibility of a young brewer.
