AMAN TOKYO has announced its original Christmas cakes and sweets for the 2020 festive season, and has begun accepting reservations.

Stollen with Wasanbon Sugar and Festive Season Limited Gift Boxes Also Available

For this Christmas, AMAN TOKYO Executive Pastry Chef Yoshihisa Miyakawa presents two cakes: "Forêt Noire" and "Mont Blanc."
The "Forêt Noire," meaning "Black Forest" in French, is an adult Christmas cake infused with alcohol. Soft cocoa sponge cake, soaked in the cherry liqueur "Kirsch," is enveloped in a light cream, and finished with shavings of 70% or higher cacao dark chocolate. It's a luxurious cake that allows you to savor the marriage of subtle Kirsch aroma and rich chocolate.
For the "Forêt Noire," Chef Miyakawa focused on dark cherries. While many imported varieties are tart, he selected Nagano-grown cherries, which offer a balanced sweetness and acidity, to complement the bitter chocolate.
Mont Blanc
The "Mont Blanc," with a chic appearance reminiscent of a Christmas tree, is made with an abundance of Japanese chestnuts from Kumamoto Prefecture, renowned for their superior quality. It features the natural aroma of chestnuts and a deep, subtle sweetness akin to Japanese confectionery. A crisp, light meringue with coconut is layered with custard and whipped cream, then coated in chestnut paste. It's a dish that allows you to fully appreciate the exquisite flavor of chestnuts.

Also available are AMAN TOKYO's original "Stollen," generously coated with Wasanbon sugar, and "Stollen with Brown Sugar Chocolate," where a brown sugar coating complements the chocolate flavor.
KOBAKO
For sweets, a limited-edition festive box for the "KOBAKO" pastry items, which were renewed last year, will be available. This year, a heart-shaped fruit jelly shaped like a gingerbread man has been added as a limited-time item. The packaging uses colors that evoke Christmas while maintaining a Japanese aesthetic, allowing you to combine your favorite sweets.
