Popular Breakfast Dishes Condensed onto One Plate
Russia boasts an area approximately 45 times that of Japan. However, due to the influence of the socialist Soviet era, Russian is spoken nationwide, and dietary habits are relatively uniform across the country.
A staple Russian breakfast is “Soba Kasha.” While soba is familiar to us in Japan as noodles, in Russia, it’s popularly eaten boiled with water and milk, like porridge.
Blini, similar to crepes, are also a common breakfast item. They are chewier than crepes and can be eaten with jam or sour cream, or filled with salmon roe or salmon.
This time, the featured dish is a one-plate meal served with ‘kotleta,’ a patty somewhere between a hamburger and a croquette, alongside beet salad and pickled mushrooms. Additionally, ‘kvass,’ a common Russian drink, and honey cake are offered.
Throughout the event period, numerous activities such as cooking classes will be held. For the first time, a special linked project allowing participants to actually travel to Russia will also launch.
This 5-night, 7-day special tour offers a wealth of experiences, including exploring local markets and supermarkets, and visiting ordinary homes for breakfast. It’s an opportunity to encounter the real Russia through the daily lives of its people.
