Flavors That Harness Terroir, Like Wine or Coffee

Dick Taylor Craft Chocolate was founded in 2010 by Adam Dick and Dustin Taylor, former furniture makers. Their policy is to create delicious and beautiful chocolate that maximizes the character of the cacao beans, using only cacao and cane sugar as ingredients, with absolutely no milk, vanilla, added cocoa butter, or emulsifiers.

Their bean-to-bar chocolates, meticulously crafted from the selection of raw beans and taking over a month to produce, are characterized by their depth of flavor, allowing you to enjoy the inherent aroma and acidity of the beans. For roasting, they use a restored and customized vintage coffee roaster, the "Royal #5." By adjusting the roasting profile to suit the specific beans, they can maximize the unique characteristics of each cacao bean.

The packaging is also handled entirely by hand, from printing to wrapping, using a restored vintage letterpress machine. The delicate, art-like bar design is also beautiful, and their chocolates have become popular in specialty food stores and fashion boutiques across the United States.

They offer four types of "Single Origin Series" flavors, each made from a single type of cacao bean. The appeal lies in enjoying the distinct flavors of each origin, much like wine or coffee. They also offer three types of "Inclusion Series" bars, which add ingredients like coconut, dried fruit, maple syrup, or sea salt to their single-origin chocolate.

Incidentally, they use illustrations of wooden boats on their packaging because they see a parallel between the time and patience required for building wooden boats and the process of making chocolate. We encourage you to savor their chocolate, born from dedication and time.
