Original Sleeves Make for Perfect Business Gifts
BbyB. is a novel chocolate brand from Belgium, conceived by Bart Desmidt, chef at the two-Michelin-star restaurant "Bartholomeus," and chocolatier Jan Verleye. While exploring desserts for his restaurant, Bart became fascinated by "Babelutten," a traditional confection from northern Belgium. The chocolates inspired by this salted caramel became a popular dessert at the restaurant, leading to the creation of BbyB.
All of BbyB.'s more than 20 varieties of chocolate are stick-shaped, with unique flavors such as "Strawberry & Pepper & Lemon" and "Passion Fruit & Basil." The packaging is modular: a slide-open box holds five chocolates, and these can be further housed in a cube-shaped box that holds five such boxes. The sleeves can be custom-designed, making them suitable for business gifts, such as event souvenirs or congratulatory presents for promotions or appointments.
Interior Design by Nendo, Led by Oki Sato
The interior design for the Ginza shop was handled by Nendo, led by Oki Sato. Considering BbyB.'s packaging, where the contents are gradually revealed by pulling out drawers, as "magic drawers," the shop features "transparent drawers with floating chocolates" at its center. The experience of customers selecting and purchasing products by pulling out drawers themselves seems to bring the world of the packaging to life within the space.
The shop also includes a cafe space where one can enjoy espresso from "Basco Velo," a Belgian coffee brand that uses the world's highest quality coffee beans.
