Delicacies Inspired by Traditional Japanese Kimono Beauty Served in a Three-Tiered Jubako Box
Palace Hotel Tokyo, situated in the conveniently accessible Marunouchi district at the heart of Tokyo, has been renowned for its meticulous service and Japanese ambiance since its establishment in 1961. The hotel reopened in 2012 after a complete renovation, generating buzz for its successful relaunch while honoring its enduring traditions.
The lounge "The Palace Lounge" on the hotel's first floor will introduce a new initiative to promote Japanese culture: an afternoon tea collaboration with kimono designer Jotaro Saito, beginning October 4th (Saturday).
Saito, originally from Kyoto, is the grandson of dyeing artist Saizo Saito and the son of contemporary kimono artist Sansai Saito. He debuted as a kimono artist at the young age of 27 and has since been creating modern kimonos as fashion statements. His shows, featuring the world's only kimonos at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO, garner attention each season.
This afternoon tea features a mini Mont Blanc reimagined as a cacao crepe, a roll cake inspired by the imagery of fabric rolls tied with chocolate cords, and cookies adorned with motifs representative of Sansai Saito's work, all presented in a three-tiered jubako box. Jotaro Saito's unique and creative ideas, infused with the traditional beauty of kimonos, truly shine. We invite you to savor this visually stunning afternoon tea experience.
