New Popsicles and Gelato Flavors Arrive from "Grom"

The "Lollipop" Popsicle: Featuring Fresh Fruit Pulp and Natural Spring Water from the Alps
Founded in 2003 by two young entrepreneurs from Torino, Italy, Grom quickly became a sensation with its first store in its hometown. It has since opened branches in New York and Paris, and made its Japanese debut in 2009.
The secret to its globally adored gelato lies in its "traditional methods," coupled with a commitment to using "only carefully selected, delicious seasonal ingredients" and "absolutely no chemical additives, everything natural." This dedication even led to the establishment of their own organic farm, "Mura Mura," ensuring the use of fresh, perfectly ripe fruits and natural, fresh milk.
The new "Lollipop" continues this philosophy, available in four flavors. The lemon and strawberry varieties are made with over 50% fresh fruit pulp, natural water from the Alps' Sparea springs, and only the minimum amount of white cane sugar. Other offerings include a rich milk flavor and a coffee flavor inspired by Italian espresso.
Rum Raisin "Malaga": A Moist, Luxurious, and Sophisticated Taste
Finally, a classic gelato flavor popular in Italy is arriving in Japan. "Malaga," the Italian word for rum raisin, is named after a resort town in Andalusia, Spain, the birthplace of Picasso. Raisins are steeped in Pamperso Aniversario, a highly regarded premium rum, then gently blended into a creamy egg-base gelato, creating a subtly sweet, luxurious, and sophisticated taste.
Grom also refreshes its flavor lineup four times a year, adapting to the seasons. For Summer 2014, alongside "Malaga," the menu features 13 gelato flavors including Grom's signature namesake "Grom," the popular "Pistachio" and "Yogurt," the summer-exclusive "Milk & Mint," and "Coconut," plus 6 sorbets and this month's special flavor, totaling 20 options.
While Lollipops are available exclusively at the Shinjuku and Osaka stores, gelato, including "Malaga," can also be purchased through the online store. These desserts are perfect for the warming season and would make delightful summer gifts.
